BDXCL Medals Appeal (03/12/2012)

We are trying to trace and record all the various designs that have been used for BDXCL medals over the years (since 1925) when the league was formed.

We have some examples from the 1930's & 40's but would like to obtain details of any other variations that may have existed for our records. But what was the badge like in the 1950's, 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's and how has it changed up to the present day? Does it, in fact, differ?

We understand that the basic design in use at any point was probably standard across all divisions and positional placements (1st, 2nd 3rd etc). We are aware of some variations in the "colour" of the "centre" of a medal to distingush positions. We have seen examples of a "copper" centre (probably for 3rd place).

Ideally we want to obtain good quality digital photographs that show the detail of the front of each medal and an idea of the era it comes from. We can take such photographs for you if we can borrow the medals. If people are willing to lend them to us we would be very grateful to know.

This information will then help towards an historical article for the archives on the development of the league "image".
